On Thursday morning (22/11/12) an Iraqi hunger striker, Wosam, was taken to Australia after spending time in a Nauruan hospital. More than 21 people had been on hunger strike, some of them for more than 20 days, others ranging from 1 to 7 days on a hunger strike. Omid, the hunger striker taken to hospital after hunger striking for over 40 days had also started refusing water. “He is exhausted from his life”.

On Friday Omid self-harmed, cutting his veins, neck and arm.

Last night,  due to a lack of medical attention, a man began to vomit blood. “All the refugees wishing to return to Australia and start the immigration process…Rain continues yet, the tents is full of water”.

Today more than 30 asylum seekers at Nauru are on hunger strike. 14 of the asylum seekers refuse to drink water. Omid, who has been on hunger strike for 44 days, is continuing to refuse medical treatment and has continued self-harming.
